The interesting point of discussion was an alternative method for quickly resolving construction disputes (within approximately 45 days). This process is straightforward, cost-effective, and fair. It involves the appointment of an expert in construction by the disputing parties themselves or through the agreement of a third party (nominating person or entity). The Consulting Engineers Association of Thailand (CEAT) in collaboration with QConZoL, invited all CEAT members to participate in the seminar “New Normal Electronic Document Management Systems-For Small Projects, EP.3 How to Prepare Your Project?” continued from EP.1 and EP.2. The most important and challenging thing in managing EDMS documents is to keep all documents in the right place. In this 3rd seminar, we discussed how to achieve the objectives of EDMS designed for small construction projects and will be a new way to manage construction documents, document types, document numbers, delivery receipts, and delivery objectives that will enable engineers to manage large construction projects with ConZoL System and work on new normal way promptly from anywhere either on a computer or mobile device. Construction Mediation The Construction Law Club with Dr. Apirath Prateapusanond arranged a lecture on “Construction Mediation” via Zoom meeting on 25th June 2020 from 6:30 pm onward. The construction has plenty of details, both the construction work and the construction contract, resulting in the dispute between the parties. The resolution of the dispute in court will cause both parties to suffer a lot of damages because there are many procedures on the way and diagnosing problems takes a long time. The construction industry therefore uses alternative dispute resolution (ADR), which is a legitimate and supported by law. One of alternative dispute resolution which is popular in Thailand is arbitration. While foreign contracts also use other alternative dispute resolution, such as Adjudication, which has been used for decades, but this process is not yet widespread in Thailand, and Mediation, a process that is highly successful and widely used in the United States.
